New build this week (0.2.2).

Updates

This week’s build mainly focus on adding the second Mine level. It uses the same set of enemies from the previous Mine level. I am not yet happy with the enemies on this level, so some parts of it will definitely change in the future. The level also includes a new optional boss.

Runestone and some wands were also removed from the game as they don’t fit into the game in their current form. The Talents will be reworked and be brought back in a later time. As for the skills, these will likely be reworked into unique items instead.

Since the update this week is short, I would like to add in some of the plans for the game.

Boss

Apart from the first forest level, every level will eventually have an optional boss. This enemy will usually drop an item that can be used in the game, and is collected and displayed in the hub area after a successful run.

I also plan to add more interactions with those boss items, and some of them will be key or a requirement to unlock branching levels.

Balance

The balance of the game is slightly off right now as the focus is mainly on finishing the 8 main levels for the game. However, the game can still be beaten unless you are aiming to kill the boss. The 3 boss definitely need some planning before they can be beaten.

The goal is to balance the game once all the 8 main levels are done, and that should be done by 0.3.0
